UIN SATU Tulungagung Holds FGD Recognition of Past Learning (RPL)

Tulungagung, 23 April 2026 – UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung held the activity FGD Recognition of Past Learning (RPL) on Thursday, 23 April 2026. This activity was attended by approx 100 participants consisting of university leaders, faculty leader, postgraduate leadership, as well as elements of academic management in the university environment.

This activity was held as part of efforts to increase understanding and readiness of institutions in implementing the Past Learning Recognition program in higher education. The RPL program is a mechanism for recognizing the learning achievements a person obtains through formal education, non-formal, informal, as well as work experience relevant to a particular field of study.

The event began with an activity report submitted by the Chair of the Quality Assurance Institute (LPM) UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung. In the report, it is stated that the implementation of RPL is one of the strategic steps for universities in expanding access to higher education and providing academic recognition for the competencies that the community already has..

Furthermore, UIN Chancellor Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung in his speech emphasized the importance of the readiness of all work units within the university to understand the concept, regulations, as well as RPL implementation mechanisms. According to him, Implementing RPL not only opens up wider opportunities for people to continue higher education, but also be part of a more flexible transformation of higher education, inclusive, and adaptive to the needs of the times.

This activity presented resource persons from the Directorate General of Higher Education at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, namely Hartoto, S.Pd., M.Pd. Besides that, Also present was another resource person, namely Awang Dharmawan, S.I.Kom., M.Si., Head of the Past Learning Recognition Center at Surabaya State University.

 

 

In the material presentation session, The speakers conveyed various important aspects related to the implementation of RPL in higher education, starting from national policy, RPL submission procedures, assessment mechanism, to good practices in implementing RPL in various universities. The participants were also given the opportunity to discuss directly various challenges and strategies for implementing RPL in the higher education environment.

 

Through this activity, It is hoped that academic leaders and managers within UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung can comprehensively understand the concept and mechanism of Past Learning Recognition so that its implementation can be carried out optimally, structured, and in accordance with applicable policies. It is hoped that the RPL program can become a strategic instrument in supporting increased access, stop, and the relevance of higher education in Indonesia.
