
Tulungagung, 30 October 2024 - State Islamic University (UIN) Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung successfully held activities to increase the competency of novice lecturers (PKDP) as part of efforts to improve the quality of teaching staff. This event was attended by novice lecturers from various PTKIN and PTKIS. The PKDP opening event also invited leadership and resource persons from the Head of the DIKTIS Manpower Sub-Directorate, Ministry of Religion, namely Muhammad Aziz Hakim., MH. This event aims to provide competency training for those who are just starting their careers as academics.

In his speech, Chancellor of UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung, Prof. Dr. Abd. Aziz, M.Pd.I., emphasized the importance of increasing the capacity of novice lecturers so that they can carry out their duties as educators well, especially in responding to the challenges of the digital era which requires innovative and adaptive learning. “This PKDP activity does not only equip lecturers in academic matters, but also train soft skills such as communication, collaboration, and technology adaptation,” he said.

Chairman of the UIN Quality Assurance Institute, Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung, Prof. Dr. Agus Zaenul Fitri, M.Pd. also gave a welcome. In his speech, He said that "This activity is one of our commitments, at the Quality Assurance Institute, to ensure that the quality of education provided on this campus is always maintained, even continues to increase. Through this PKDP, We hope that novice lecturers will not only gain new knowledge related to the curriculum, learning methods, as well as research capabilities, but also able to develop skills in adapting digital technology and effective communication skills. "All of this is important so that we can together provide relevant and quality education for our students."

Besides that, Beginner lecturers also receive mentoring from senior lecturers at UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung who are experienced in their respective fields.. It is hoped that this activity can speed up the adaptation process of novice lecturers in the academic environment, increase productivity, and encourage them to produce quality scientific works.
This PKDP event received a positive response from the participants. They feel they have gained a lot of new knowledge and skills that will be useful in the learning process in class. “I felt very helped by this training. We are more prepared in planning better teaching for students,” said one participant.
With the implementation of this PKDP activity, UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung hopes to produce competent teaching staff, innovative, and ready to face challenges in the ever-growing world of education.
