Strengthening the Role of Internal Auditors and Exposure to AMI Results

Tulungagung – Universities need to ensure that the quality of education is the main thing. In improving the quality of Higher Education, Operational processes must run efficiently and effectively. One way to achieve this is through strengthening the role of internal auditors, especially in the context of Internal Quality Audit. On Wednesday, 02 October 2024 UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung has organized activities Focused Group Discussion Expose Internal Quality Audit Results (AMI) with the theme Strengthening the Role of Internal Auditors to Improve the Quality of Education.

 

This activity also invited the Chancellor of UIN SATU, Vice Chancellors, Kabiro, Dean, Director, Deputy Dean, Head of Study Program/Coordination, Auditor Internal, GPMF and UPMP. Besides that, to strengthen the role of internal quality auditors, This activity also invited one of the expert/professional staff from UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, namely Mr. Rosihan Aslihuddin, S. Sos., M.A.B., CRP., CRP to provide materials.

In the opening Focused Group Discussion Expose Internal Quality Audit Results (AMI), The head of LPM UIN SATU is Prof. Dr. Agus Zaenul Fitri, M.Pd., also gave a welcome. In his speech, He said that "accreditation is not the final goal in the quality assurance system, but creating a culture of quality education, so the SPMI cycle must continue to rotate. Audit findings are evaluation material for quality improvement and improvement, effective exposure to audit results will ensure that findings and recommendations are understood and implemented, thereby encouraging the achievement of higher quality goals. Thus, The role of internal auditors as strategic partners in quality management will be increasingly realized, provide long-term benefits for the institution.” Furthermore, The Chancellor of UIN SATU, namely Prof. Dr. Abd. Aziz, M.Pd.I. also gave greetings and instructions. In his speech, He said that "The role of auditors is very important in the quality assurance cycle of higher education. Moreover, in the next two to three years we will have remuneration. For, we have to think about big things that have a direct impact on higher education. I believe, an activity that definitely has a lot of impact, starting from financial aspects and so on." He hopes that this activity will have a direct impact on institutional quality.

After the event was opened by the Chancellor of UIN SATU, The FGD activity continued with a material session delivered by the speaker, Rosihan Aslihuddin, S. Sos., M.A.B., CRP., CRP. In the material, He emphasized that "An auditor is obliged to master actions: (1) Asking techniques; (2) Recording Results; (3) Make discoveries; (4) Conduct a closing meeting; And (5) Make a report. Usually, What is forgotten is making the report. Besides that, The results of the audit must have findings." He also said that by conducting a systematic and planned audit, Internal auditors can make a significant contribution to continuous improvement within an organization.

In the next session, An exposure of the findings of the Internal Quality Audit results was carried out, led by the Head of the Quality Audit Center (Dr. Moh. Arif) and Head of the Assessment Center (Dr. Adi Wijayanto, M.Pd.). In this activity, The Head of the Quality Audit Center presented the findings from all study programs within UIN SATU. The findings he conveyed were that in general the study programs had met the standards, although there were still some study programs that had not yet met because they had not implemented AMI..
