Forum Group Discussion (FGD) Implementation of the MBKM BKP Program

Quality Assurance Institute (LPM) UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung held a Group Discussion Forum event (FGD) Implementation of the BKP MBKM program on the date 11 until 13 November 2023 who took place at Crown Victoria Hotel. This event was attended by 3 The resource person, Prof.. Akhsanul In’am, Ph.D (Director of Postasna UMM), Dr. Syamsul Arifin, M.T (ITS/ BELMAWA DIKTI) and Dr. Budi Leksono, MT (US).

The aim of holding this event is to provide a reference for the Study Program to implement the learning process in accordance with current demands, referring to the KKNI, three semester study rights in accordance with MBKM, and the future to ensure the quality of graduates, provide guidance to students and lecturers in implementing the right to study one semester outside the study program in their PT and two semesters outside their PT, meet the demands, flow of change, and the need for links and matches with the business and industrial world (YOU/DI), and to prepare students for the world of work, and encourage the learning process in higher education to be more autonomous and flexible, creating an innovative learning culture, not restrained, and according to student needs.

The first day began with an opening speech by the Head of the Center for Curriculum and Learning Development at UIN, Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung, followed by an explanation from each resource person regarding the discussion theme. Intensive discussions were carried out in the form of FGDs between resource persons and participants, guided by a designated moderator.

On the second day, A more in-depth discussion was carried out regarding the implementation of the concepts and guidelines that had been presented. Participants actively discussed and exchanged experiences regarding challenges and solutions in implementing this concept in their respective environments.

The final day concluded with the preparation of recommendations and concrete steps for implementing the concepts discussed. The participants are committed to implementing the results of this discussion in practice in their respective Study Programs.

After three days of intensive discussions, gained a deep understanding of the importance of developing a contemporary-based curriculum. The participants agreed that the implementation of the right to study three semesters in accordance with the MBKM is a crucial step in ensuring the quality of graduates and their readiness for the world of work..

The resulting recommendations include the need to adapt curriculum and learning to meet current demands and industry needs, as well as expanding learning rights for students and lecturers outside their Study Program environment. It is hoped that with the implementation of these concepts, The learning process at UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung will become more autonomous, flexible, and innovative, in accordance with the vision and mission of the university.

The Forum Group Discussion on Current-Based Curriculum Development at UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung ended successfully. All participants are committed to applying the results of the discussion in learning practices in their respective higher education environments.
